Carol Hagh

 FTSE 250 Non-Executive Director & Senior Advisor 

 Carol Hagh is an expert on leadership and executive effectiveness -- topics about which she has published in the Harvard Business Review. She is the Senior Independent Director of Chesnara, a FTSE250 life insurance company, and was previously on the board of Direct Line.

At the end of her executive career, Carol was Head of UK Insurance at the executive search firm Spencer Stuart. She placed executive and non-executive directors; worked with corporate clients on leadership succession; and published on leadership and talent management. During this time, she had the opportunity to meet and assess thousands of top executives and gain an understanding of what makes them successful and the barriers they face in their careers.

Prior to this, she had a career in digital transformation and customer centricity in financial services. She has held executive roles with Aviva and Aegon, spanning digital, innovation, customer strategy and corporate strategy, across multiple geographies. She was in digital consulting with Sapient, working in a variety of industry sectors. She began her career as an actuarial trainee with Prudential Financial and Ernst & Young.

Carol received her MBA from INSEAD and graduated from Harvard with a BA in Computer Science.
