About

Domestic abuse is often a hidden issue in the workplace, yet its impact on individuals—and organisations—is profound. Many survivors continue to navigate their professional responsibilities while experiencing or recovering from abuse, often without the awareness or support they need from those around them.

Join us for this upcoming Breaking the Silence Forum, where we’ll create a safe and supportive space to explore the realities of domestic abuse in the context of work. Building on previous discussions—such as understanding economic abuse and how to better support survivors—this session will continue to raise awareness, challenge stigma, and encourage more informed and compassionate workplace responses.

Domestic abuse affects millions of people each year, with workplaces often playing a critical role in providing safety, stability, and access to support. This forum will focus on how organisations and individuals can better recognise, respond to, and support those impacted.

The session will be chaired by Sarah Brown, CEO and founder of We Thrive, who brings over 30 years of professional experience alongside her lived experience as a survivor of domestic abuse. Her work focuses on trauma-informed approaches and supporting both individuals and organisations to create safer, more inclusive workplaces. Sarah will guide the conversation to ensure it is thoughtful, sensitive, and empowering, creating space for meaningful dialogue and shared learning.

What we’ll explore:
